Meet Leo!
This sweet, affectionate, goofy boy is searching for his perfect forever home. Leo is great with kids, though he's a little clumsy and doesn't understand that his tail could be considered a deadly weapon (it's ALWAYS wagging), so dog savvy young kids or older kids is preferred. He also enjoys other dogs. Whether it be cuddling with them, wrestling, or his personal favorite: tug-of-war, Leo would love a dog sibling in his home (though it's not required). Leo currently lives with a cat who he is interested in playing with. I would recommend that he only go to a home with cats that don't run away from dogs, as he would chase them (playfully) which wouldn't be fair to the cat.
Leo's Story:
We don't know a ton about Leo's first 6 months of life. He was found as a stray in Genesee County - emaciated, full of intestinal parasites, ear infections, and timid. He doesn't show any signs of abuse, but does show signs of neglect. His experienced foster mom believes he was tied outside somewhere and left without food. He has one major scar that looks like he was tangled up in a leash for a longer period of time.
Thankfully, this harsh start to life doesn't seem to affect him negatively. He is crate trained, food motivated (but doesn't guard it), and an overall friendly boy. We are still working on potty training but he does great when consistently let out.
