Captain Jack summary: High energy, good in the car, needs to be the only pet in the home, no apartments please, good with kids age 12+, housetrained.
Captain Jack is a lively, energetic and joyful young Mountain Cur, a high energy hunting breed. He started out life as a squirrel hunter and now is hoping to find a home
where he would be put to work with a "job" such as agility, tricks, running with his owner, or just learning anything new to challenge him.
He is about 48 lbs and just under 1 year old, so he is really just an older puppy. He is smart as a whip and eager to learn. Because of his breed and background, he really needs his physical and mental exercise on a daily basis and that will build in a strong bond with whomever adopts him.
Jack currently loves playing with a flirt pole, searching for kibble thrown into the yard for him to find, having a ball thrown for him, going for a walk, and food puzzle toys. He has been started with clicker training and responded very well to it. He is very loving with people and enjoys giving a gentle kiss, getting a back scratch, or cuddling up close. He would love to be a lap dog once he is done with his work for the day.
