We strive to make the best fit for our dogs and to set them up for lifelong success in their new home. Here are requirements for Timmy’s new family:
-Must have a 6 foot fence (we do home visits and will be verifying a sturdy, safe fence)
-no apartments
-no children
-must have a compatible dog for Timmy to live with. Resident dog must be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. We do get reference checks.
-adopter must understand that Timmy will take some time to acclimate, gain his trust and feel comfortable in a new environment. Positive, reward-based training only.
Please do not apply to adopt Timmy unless you meet and understand all these requirements. Thank you.
Timmy (or Tim-Tim, as his foster mom calls him) had a rough start to life. He lived with a hunter as an outside dog, and the hunter gave him to someone else where he lived a raised kennel with other hunting dogs. He came into rescue poorly socialized, but has made tremendous strides while at the foster home.
Timmy likes to play with other dogs and finds comfort in their company, so we are seeking an adoptive home with a friendly dog that could show Timmy the ropes and be his BFF. Timmy is fine with cats, and can easily live with a few, if you happen to be a cat lover.
At the beginning of his chapter with our rescue, Timmy was super shy and scared, but now he seeks attention and sleeps in bed with his foster momma. (And a few other beagles).
Timmy likes to go for walks and does fine on leash, as long as you let him use his super beagle sniffer along the way!
Timmy exhibits some signs of separation anxiety, but can be crated (with a little pharmaceutical help) while his foster mom works long hours. We’d prefer that he go to a home where someone is home a fair bit, but he copes with being left when necessary.
We are seeking an adopter who is patient and extremely kind and understanding.
Timmy is a sensitive soul who deserves someone who will go slow and accept him as the sweet, quirky fellow that we have grown to know and love. He’s going to take a little extra work, but that’s going to make his addition to the right family all the more satisfying.
Timmy is 4 and half years old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, parasite-free, and on heartworm prevention. If you’re interested in adding this goofball to your family please fill out an adoption application.
